"...before long some big record label is going to own the exclusive and you'll only be able to hear this great performer if you spend some money. And while you're listening, don't blink or leave the room for even a moment - you'll certainly miss something amazing!"
- B.J. Collins, Funender Review Crew

You'll be struck dumb by this rock guitarists abilities. His music and main influences being a mix of everything including Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert. "Although I can shred with the best of ‘em (so I’ve been told anyway!)"

I prefer to focus on melody rather than chops …but I’ve been known to get carried away on occasion!

Bob's early career had him playing everything from Bon Jovi to Iron Maiden covers in local spots throughout Atlantic Canada with a variety of bands.

In 1990, he won the Fender Guitar Warz competition in his area and was placed in the top five in Canada. He then moved to Halifax in 1991 and did session work and live performances with many artists in various styles.

In 1995, he was given the opportunity to co-write the soundtrack for “Works”; a locally produced children’s television show. This led to other opportunities in writing music for media.

T.V. shows featuring my music include: What The Canuck?, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made In Canada, The Itch, El Mundo Del Lundo, Works and Snakes & Ladders. Most of my music is available for licensing.

Bob's CD "Sorta Purple" available at his artistlaunch site is a compilation of instrumental rock tunes written from '89 to '96.He showcased many of his tunes at trade shows while representing Yamaha as a clinician.

"If you run a record label, I would think you might want to pick this guy up. Bob Melanson breathes new life into the instrumental genre."
- C. Mitchel Marinos, Gods Of Music.
