Alexandra King’s new EP, Across the Pond, is both a homecoming and a heartfelt reflection on belonging. The four-track collection, recorded with producer Evan Sieling and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Craig Alvin (Kacey Musgraves), weaves together originals and beloved traditional songs. Rooted in King’s dual identity—Irish and Irish-American—the EP captures the delicate balance between reverence for tradition and the artist’s own evolving sound. “Across the Pond is where tradition meets my own experience—a bridge between Ireland and my Irish-American roots,” King shares, describing the project as a “collection of memories—both borrowed and my own.”

The tracklist—featuring Lose Me to Dublin, Freckles (in an old pub), Galway Girl, and Willie McBride—offers a seamless conversation between past and present. King’s originals serve as intimate love letters to Ireland’s landscapes and people, while her interpretations of classics recall evenings filled with song and family. Her voice, both earthy and luminous, carries the emotional resonance of someone who has lived the stories she tells. Each track feels steeped in gratitude and quiet resilience, as though King is tracing her own lineage through melody.

That resilience defines King’s journey as much as her music. Just a few years ago, she faced a devastating spinal cord injury that left her unsure if she’d ever walk—or perform—again. Music became her lifeline during recovery, a compass guiding her toward healing and purpose. Now based in Nashville, King has re-emerged with renewed clarity and strength, her songwriting grounded in lived experience and soulful storytelling. With Across the Pond, Alexandra King doesn’t just reconnect with her roots—she redefines them, proving that from pain and distance, something profoundly beautiful can take flight.
