If music could fog up a mirror, LE BRUIT would leave it dripping.
The Anglo-French trio has emerged with Idle Hands / Au Solde des Nuits, a debut double A-side 7-inch vinyl that blends the dreamlike textures of shoegaze with the slow-burning intensity of post-rock. Released via Rough Trade, it’s already drawing comparisons to Portishead’s emotional gravity and the cinematic weight of Mogwai—though LE BRUIT's sound is wholly their own.
On “Idle Hands”, low-slung baritone guitars and atmospheric percussion create a slow, deliberate pulse. The lyrics—“with the sun behind you and the shadow of who you are leading the way”—linger like poetry read in a cathedral. The track earned Absolute Radio UK’s “Self-Released Song of the Month” and has since spread its wings across UK and European airwaves.
“Au Solde des Nuits” (translated: In the remains of the night) is the kind of track you listen to on repeat at 2 a.m., equal parts ghost story and gospel lullaby. With bilingual lyrics and aching harmonies, it captures the emotional weight of absence in all its shades.
LE BRUIT aren’t here to shout. They’re here to echo.
