Emerging rap and hip-hop artist Chauhan is back, making waves with his latest single, “Age 17”—an introspective and emotionally charged track that dives deep into his early struggles and growth as a songwriter. Known for his heartfelt lyrics and raw delivery, Chauhan uses this release to reflect on the defining moments that shaped his artistic path.

Chauhan began writing songs at just 15, but it wasn’t until he turned 17 that he mustered the courage to share his work with those around him. This pivotal moment, filled with doubt and resistance from friends and family, ultimately became the driving force behind his perseverance. “Age 17” now serves as a testament to his resilience, capturing both the highs and lows of chasing a dream.

Since moving to the UK, Chauhan found a close-knit community of musicians who fueled his creative ambitions. Their support gave him the confidence to push forward and share his personal story through his music. The track features the standout line: “Zindagi ki kadi sachai, Jispai kadi kri na gaur, Apne bhi Deve hai sath Jab chale hai thari Daur”—translated as, “The hard reality of life is that your own beloved people support you when you finally make it; no one wants to support you while you're struggling.” This verse encapsulates the struggle many artists face in gaining recognition from those closest to them.

In the chorus, Chauhan reveals his tenacity: “Umar 17 mai likhe gane jo, Kayi hasse mar mar kehve, Bol tere low, Bhai thara pura hustler yo!” (When I was 17, I tried to show my song to my loved ones, and they said to do something that suits you. But even then, I had a hustler's mindset). These powerful words show his unwavering self-belief and determination to prove his doubters wrong.

Despite limited access to resources—recording with basic software and his phone—Chauhan never wavered from his path. Drawing inspiration from Punjabi music legends like Sidhu Moosewala, he channels his humble beginnings and aims to gain international recognition for his village and his language.

With “Age 17,” Chauhan cements his place in the rap scene, offering a message of perseverance and a hustler’s mindset that will resonate with listeners worldwide.
