KOOB’s Chaos Feels Like Coming Home in 'Therapist'

KOOB’s new single “Therapist” is a visceral thrill ride through mental clutter and emotional denial, wrapped in her signature cocktail of avant-jazz and experimental soul. Born from a surreal moment of overstimulation on Berlin’s S-Bahn, the track is chaotic, sharp-edged, and impossible to ignore—just like the emotional states it captures. KOOB’s voice dances on the brink of collapse, but it never falters, delivering a performance that’s both brave and bruised.

Lyrically, “Therapist” reads like a self-refusal letter. “I don’t need help,” she declares, while every tremor in her voice suggests otherwise. It’s this duality—strength and vulnerability in constant tension—that makes the track feel so human. Musically, it’s just as complex: frenetic percussion, brass outbursts, and harmonic detours mimic a mind fraying under pressure, only to reassemble into a radiant, cathartic finale.

This is KOOB at her most unfiltered, and it works beautifully. “Therapist” isn’t an easy listen, but it’s an essential one—a mirror held up to the noise inside us all.
